If you've spent any length of time around horses you may have realized that horses have just as much, if not more to teach us, as we have to teach them. And many of those lessons go beyond our horse work and into our life outside of horses. This podcast will explore the mental and emotional side of working with horses as well as lessons learned from horses that apply to life in general, self improvement, handling emotions, and improving mental health.
Deanna Preis is a trainer and advocate of the horse, focusing on healthy movement and happy horses. She is located in southern Illinois in the United States. She has a bachelor's of science degree in biological sciences, as well as many equine specific anatomy courses and classical training programs. She draws from these to help support the horse and keep them moving and working in a way that will help them stay healthy and comfortable well into old age.
Deanna Preis talks about how proper riding and training can influence soundness and hoof health in both a positive or negative way. She also discusses resources such as Straightness Training and her own farm, ShadeTree Stables, to help assess whether your horse is moving properly or not.
In this podcast, we will talk about all things pertaining to our relationships with horses, discussing how to establish and improve your connection with your horse through all of your interactions with them. We will also talk about heart horses, what it means to have that deep of a bond with a horse, how to find or create that relationship, and how to go through the process of losing a heart horse.
